Zaid Paruk CA(SA), is a seasoned investor with over 17 years of investment experience, including 12 years in professional roles. Most recently, Zaid led a team and co-managed various funds at Aeon Investment Management, overseeing assets under management (AuM) over R22 billion ($1.2 billion). These funds included Global and Domestic Balanced Funds, as well as Equity-only funds. Zaid’s previous roles encompass experience at PwC, Greybond Group, and Balondolozi Investment Services.

Zaid’s passion for investments dates back to his upbringing in an entrepreneurial family, where regular discussions were held about business and markets. Hailing from a fourth generation South African business family with a background in global trade, Zaid naturally gravitated towards the markets, drawing from both familial influences and personal experiences.

Subsequently, Zaid transitioned to managing funds for friends and family, gaining invaluable insights into third-party capital management and the business aspects of asset management. His pivotal roles as a professional Portfolio Manager and analyst at both Aeon Investment Management and Balondolozi Investment Services further underscored his aptitude for managing substantial funds, evidenced by the funds returns compared to industry peers. This laid the groundwork for his next endeavor: founding Wealthvest Investment Management.

Muhammad embarked on an illustrious journey that melds academic excellence with a fervent passion for financial stewardship.

Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a commitment to excellence, Muhammad embarked on a transformative professional journey at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in both South Africa and Australia. Over the course of over five years, he immersed himself in the intricacies of professional services and earned the coveted Chartered Accountant (South Africa) designation, a testament to his unwavering dedication and expertise.

Muhammads time in Australia, further refined his craft on the global stage. Armed with a wealth of experience and a global perspective, he returned to South Africa, driven by a singular vision: to catalyse positive change and empower citizens through the realm of finance. Fueled by an innate optimism and unwavering confidence, Muhammad embarked on his entrepreneurial journey, founding Wealthvest Investment Management. Guided by a steadfast belief in the potential of his country and its people, he envisions the firm as a beacon of progress and prosperity, dedicated to fostering sustainable growth and creating tangible impact.

Ayanda Mvandaba
Chairperson

Ayanda is an experienced entrepreneur, financial services and financial engineering professional bringing experience from listed and unlisted markets, for profit and non-profit sectors as well as oversight over government institutions. She has a proven track record of leveraging existing and new networks to grow businesses and is a subject matter expert on fundraising and scaling, having been a keynote speaker on the aforementioned subjects on various platforms and conferences. Ayanda is a keen investor in various businesses which she oversees and strategically guides. Being a chartered accountant and holding a certification in risk management, in conjunction with her experience in external audit, this has provided a solid foundation for the value that she adds to her clients, to the entities whose boards that she is a part of and the day to day running of the various businesses that she is invested in. She is about leaving a lasting legacy and living governance as a way of life, not as an afterthought. Ayanda has had the honour of being named one of Africa’s Brightest Young Minds in 2021, one of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Top 35 Under 35 in 2022 as well as a finalist in the Accenture Gender Mainstreaming Awards, a finalist in the Women of Stature Awards in 2023 and a winner in the Mail and Guardian Top 200 for 2024.

Ayanda is the CEO and majority shareholder of Drink Nil which is South Africa’s largest e-commerce retailer specialising in non-alcoholic beverages. Ayanda is the founder and now chairperson of Kwandiso Consulting Financial Services servicing SMMEs and the township economy.

Ayanda is the co-founder and director of The Mvandaba Family Office which has stakes in various businesses in FMCG, oil, gas and energy, retail and property. She is the Managing Partner of Youth Bridge which is a youth unemployment solution.
